Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991, is also known under the surname Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her first EP, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released by Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she began to get fame. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet in 2012, as she released her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The year 2014 saw her release more music via the Internet including Bound. In 2015she sung on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, performing the song Sweat it out on July 21. J. Cole, who was a part of the Dreamville team at the time, wanted to have her work on Rihanna in reference to Rihanna.
